Crimperman.org is the personal website of me, Ryan Cartwright. In the past it has served up an array of stuff I have created including
- Digital imagery
None of those are available here right now as I am having a rethink about what this this is and what it can be/do. So I'm afraid you'll not find much here right now. If you were looking for something in particular then I'm afraid I'm not offering it here any more.
Some places will still have copies of my stuff on the web (the web is like that, it hangs onto stuff after you've had enough of it)
One thing I would say is that if you do find my stuff on the web under anything other than a Creative Commons licence then let the distributor know that they're using the wrong licence..
I write stories and novels aimed at children and I've been publishing them under the moniker of Crimperbooks for some years now. Some have won awards and all are available to freely download and share under similar licensing to everything here. That said if you want to buy one in paperback or ebook form then you can of course do that too.
Interested in some free kids books with genuinely no strings attached? Head on over to Crimperbooks.
I'll keep this as brief and succinct as I can:
Unless noted otherwise, everything on this site (including text and images) is Copyright © Ryan P. Cartwright
Everything that is copyright to me on this site is covered by a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 licence.
What that means is that you are free to :
- distribute, use and/or transmit the works
- alter or adapt the works
- redistribute your altered version
Just as long as you:
- Acknowledge me as the author/creator of the original by including this text somewhere in the work:
by Ryan Cartwright http://www.crimperman.orgFor altered works you can put
Based on an original work by Ryan Cartwright http://www.crimperman.orgIf you are including a cartoon in your newsletter you can leave the note I put at the bottom of the toon rather than write any specific acknowledgement.
- Give those receiving any distributed works (including your own altered versions) the same freedoms as listed here
- Add no additional restrictions - You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Your otherwise fair usage of these works is not inhibited and any of the above conditions can be waived by getting prior permission from me in writing. That means if you want to use something of mine in a newspaper or paid for site and don't want to make the individual publication you use my work in available under the same terms, you must get my prior written permission.
If you want to use something in a commercial environment, send me an email stating what you want to use and I'll get back to you. Note sending an email does not constitute you getting permission, it just lets me know you want to use something.
Previously, (a long time ago) stuff on this site was under a charityware licence. Whilst I feel the Creative Commons licence I now use gives you a greater (and more preferable, on my part) freedom, it does not mention charitable work at all.
I'm not doing this for any thanks (although words of encouragement are - well - encouraging) but I understand that sometimes people want to show their appreciation. If that includes you, then I encourage you to donate to a charity of your choice on my behalf.
